Duo Thalia featuring Xueao Yang & Kendra Grittani

About Xueao Yang

I was born in China, and I started playing the violin when I was four years old. I fell in love and became passionate about music very quickly. At the age of twelve, I was accepted into the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing.

I have performed solo recitals and chamber music in many countries, such as China, Japan, France, the USA and Canada. As an orchestra musician, I had the privilege to play in many major orchestras in Canada, such as the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, Regina Symphony Orchestra, and Toronto Symphony Orchestra. In the upcoming season, I will be playing with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony as associate principal second violin.

Equally passionate about teaching, I have taught in music schools such as West Island Conservatory of Music and Vivaldi Academy of Music. My students have frequently participated in and won top prizes at the Kiwanis Music festival.
