We are committed to truth and reconciliation

St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church is situated on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg, and Haudenosaunee Peoples.

We recognize our responsibility to serve as stewards of the land and honour the original caretakers who came before us. Our community is enriched by the enduring knowledge and deep-rooted traditions of the diverse First Nations, Metis and Inuit in Kitchener today.

Partnering with Anishnabeg Outreach

The Anishnabeg Outreach (AO) provides Indigenous people with access to culturally appropriate services.  It strives to support individuals with direction and assistance to overcome barriers that will lead to self-sufficiency and success.  AO provides a centralized space for Indigenous people to grow, learn and be a beacon for future generations.   AO involves the entire person – including their families and their connections.  Since 2001, AO has been an incorporated non-profit organization guided by a volunteer Board of Directors and a clear mission and set of values.  In 2017, Stephen Jackson became the CEO, to lead AO as it reflects on the roots of Indigenous people, encourages continued growth, and builds community.

St. Andrew’s is currently providing AO with access to Iona Hall each week for youth basketball.   We look forward to continuing our partnership with AO in new and creative ways in the days ahead.  For more information, check out their website.
