Music Ministry Musings at St. Andrew's
The fall season has included a lot of music in the church services.
St. Andrew's Sanctuary choir prepared anthems and offertory music. It is wonderful to have a dedicated group of singers to share their talents. Many styles of music have been covered over the past two months. 'Sing to the Lord of Harvest,’ ‘When the Stars Fall,’ ‘Then Sings My Soul’ to name a few!' On occasions, instrumentalists (flute, violin, oboe and handbell) were invited to play in the services.
St. Andrew's Handbell ringers sounded amazing on November 3rd. Their next appearance will be on Sunday, December 15th.
The Noon Hour Concerts are presented in the sanctuary weekly. The Hallowe'en Special with choral scholars, violin, piano, organ and 'decorations' was a real treat! A great way to spend the lunch hour and hear some excellent music!
Christmas will be here very soon and there is lots of music planned for the month of December. The cantata "What Sweeter Music - A Festival of Carols" will be performed as part of the annual CTV recorded service for broadcast on Christmas Day! Please mark your calendars to attend on Sunday, December 15th at 3:00 pm. We invite everyone to hear the program in person. A reception will follow downstairs.
In closing, there is always room for another singer or ringer in the choirs.
