Pickle Palooza - Pickling Bee 2023
Don't miss this unique opportunity to learn the art of pickling, engage in silly pickle games, and connect with people of all ages. Join us on Tuesday, July 25th and Wednesday, July 26th, for Pickle Palooza, and let's create jars of pickled delights together!
🫙 Pickling Process:
Day 1 - Tuesday, July 25th: We will pickle two bushels of beets each day; this involves cooking the beets, skinning them, filling the jars, and sealing them. The process includes measuring salt, pouring hot vinegar solution, and hearing the satisfying "pop" of sealed jars. Pickling is a hands-on experience, and there's a good chance that some beet juice might make its way onto clothing, so it's best to wear something that you feel relaxed in and won't worry about staining.
Day 2 - Wednesday, July 26th: with a couple of tweaks, the process is repeated again for the other two bushels of beets. Plus, we’ll have a team of quality control inspectors and we’ll have teams labelling the jars of beets that were prepared the previous day.
🤭 Get ready to 'pickle' your funny bone with our hilarious 'dill-ightful' pickle games!:
From the "Beet Toss Challenge" testing your aim to the "Beet Trivia Showdown" putting your knowledge to the test, we'll keep the smiles and giggles going. Join in the friendly competition of the "Beet Jar Relay Race" and try your luck in guessing the number of beets in the "Guess the Beet" game. Get ready to have a beet-tastic time as we pickle, play, and create unforgettable memories together!
